I’m Aizzah, a thirty-something year old haematology registrar living and working in the south east of the UK. I started this website to share my unique experiences with the world. Being a British, Pakistani, Muslim doctor is definitely not a unique experience. I get it, I’m a walking cliché.
Being a doctor and working in the NHS has consumed most of my life for the past 14 years. As a daughter, a sister and an aunt, my long suffering family knows to regularly check the google calendar for my rota. I see friends only after endless polling to find one date in three months that works for all of us.
Despite all of that, I love to travel - with friends, family or on my own, I’m not too fussy. I enjoy being creative, but only if it’s also practical. I knit, I sew, I paint and I’ve even dabbled in a little carpentry. Give me a problem and I will most likely find a do-it-yourself, Blue Peter-esque solution.
Always on the edge of the ‘Garden of England’ but never quite in it, I’ve cultivated my love of the countryside. Hiking, horse riding and running feature heavily in my self-care routine. Add in some semi-serious gym sessions and you have one small but mighty woman.
This blog will give you a taste of how I navigate through the bizarre combination of things that makes me me. You might even find a unique insight in there. I hope you enjoy reading it!
